What can you do?
One church supports another
Urban and suburban churches often recognise the particular challenges of rural ministry and want to assist. Your church may have an existing link with a rural church or we can encourage a mutually beneficial relationship to develop. Some supporting churches will include Rural Ministries as part of their missionary programmes and giving.
Prayer
By receiving our quarterly Praise and Prayer News (see Resources page) you join with over 900 others and commit to praying for a different rural church each day. We have witnessed the power of prayer and seen how God has had a profound effect on the rural church. One of our prayer supporters recently shared this with us:
“I always use the Praise and Prayer News and I read it all the way through and then use it each day. It is great to see what God is doing in the rural church and it means we can support each other more effectively”.
Friends
Join our mailing list and receive our Impact magazine (twice per year), Praise and Prayer News (quarterly) and have access to our range of resources.
Promotion
Perhaps your church could hold a Faith in the Countryside evening and invite churches in your rural area. More information available fro the Rural Ministries office.
Financially
Rural Ministries relies on donations from supporters both individuals and churches and if you are UK tax payer the government through its Gift Aid scheme will increase your gift by 25p in every £1.
There are many ways to donate to the work, by cheque (payable to Rural Ministries), payroll giving and a regular standing order from your bank account.
Legacies
Do something today that will have an impact tomorrow!
Leaving a gift to Rural Ministries in your will is an amazing way for your generosity to last beyond your own lifetime. You will be making a significant and lasting difference to the ongoing witness of Rural Ministries.
There are many ways in which you can leave a gift in your will and we recommend that you consult a legal advisor to ensure all is done correctly and with family members so they are aware of your wishes.
