Director – Pastoral Support (South)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 pro rata
(depending upon experience)

Rural Ministries is an exciting and developing mission agency that since 1962 has been seeking to encourage mission, enable pioneers and equip the rural church across the UK. Due to continued expansion we are looking to grow our team in order to continue to provide pastoral support and networking amongst our partners.


We are looking for someone to join our team and further develop the missional and pastoral clustering of church ministers, pioneers and other key leaders for spiritual support, learning and mutual encouragement. The successful candidate will work to create and implement appropriate systems of pastoral care for key leaders and their families, working closely with the CEO and trustees. They will also work with the CEO and staff team to help those partnering with Rural Ministries to become healthier and more missionally effective.


Will be expected to demonstrate

  • A genuine interest in making a missional difference to the life of the rural church
  • Willingness to work across a variety of church streams and organisations to achieve this
  • Experience in church leadership and involvement in inter-church activities
  • That they are a self-motivated person with a robust and resilient personality and temperament and the capacity to work a varied time pattern as needed
  • A theological wisdom to work across denominations as well as with those who have no denominational affiliation
  • A commitment to our values

This is a part time position based on eight days per month, open to lay or ordained persons. There is a requirement to have a full driving licence, your own vehicle and to travel within the UK.
